Center Console Angler has assembled a seasoned, highly experienced team of regular contributors who will keep you informed and entertained with every new issue. We’re proud to have some of the top names in outdoor writing on our masthead, names many of you will recognize instantly. But our goal was not familiarity— we asked these guys to join us because they’re the best at what they do. Look for contributions from:

Karl AndersonKarl Anderson- Senior Editor
There's scarcely an aspect of the marine industry that Anderson hasn't covered as a journalist, consultant, field tester, marketing director or product manager. The list of companies he has worked with includes Penn Reels, Mercury Outboards, Simrad Electronics, Offshore Angler, AFTCO, Lowrance Electronics, SeaCraft, Mold Craft, Hell's Bay Boatworks, Boone Tackle, Mako Marine, Hearst Magazines, Mares Yachts, Ocean Yachts, Pursuit Fishing Boats and Calusa Cast Nets. He has also served as a senior editor for Salt Water Sportsman, and as electronics editor for Marlin magazine. When not writing or consulting, Anderson captains the 58-foot Merritt yacht, "Brier Patch."

Barry GibsonBarry Gibson- Senior Editor
Gibson spent 27 years with Salt Water Sportsman, and was the magazine's Editor from 1982 to 2004. A long-time proponent of responsible fishery management, Gibson has served on numerous state, federal, and international boards. Currently he's a member of the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Committee, is vice-president of the Northeast Charterboat Captains Association, and serves as the New England Regional Director for the Recreational Fishing Alliance. He has fished in major venues in North, Central, and South America for 30 years, and has contributed to numerous outdoor magazines throughout the U.S. A well-known charter boat captain and guide in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, he enthusiastically chases everything from striped bass to giant bluefin tuna during the summer months.

Glenn LawGlenn Law- Senior Editor
Law has covered fresh and salt water fishing for over 20 years, and has written hundreds of articles and taken thousands of photos on assignment in North, South and Central America, the Bahamas and the Caribbean. He is the author of A Concise History of Fly Fishing, published by Lyons Press, and his byline has appeared in Men's Journal, Popular Mechanics, Outdoor Life, Rod and Reel, American Angler, Field & Stream, Sports Afield, Fly Fisherman and the Miami Herald among others. He is a former senior editor for Salt Water Sportsman, and the former editor-in-chief of Florida Sportsman magazine.

Rip CunninghamRip Cunningham- Conservation Editor
Cunningham is an internationally known marine conservationist who has won Conservationist of the Year awards from such prestigious organizations as the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), and the Coastal Conservation Association of Massachusetts (CCA-MA). He served on the board of directors of the National Coalition for Marine Conservation and is a U.S. Director for the Miramachi Salmon Association. He has served 16 years on the Massachusetts Marine Fisheries Commission, and currently sits on the federal New England Fishery Management Council. A veteran of the publishing industry as well, Cunningham spent over 30 years with Salt Water Sportsman magazine, serving as everything from assistant editor to Publisher/Editor-in-Chief. He was also the co-host of the Salt Water Sportsman Show on ESPN.

Doug PikeDoug Pike-Editor-at-Large
Pike started fishing at three years of age with a cane pole (the most underrated fishing device ever, he says) and never slowed down. He has been an outdoors columnist for the Houston Chronicle for 21 years, and concurrently served as editor of TIDE magazine for 10 years. His other work includes being a contributing editor for Field & Stream magazine, Inside the Outdoors radio show on ESPN 790, hundreds of magazine articles, and one fishing book. He has won more than 100 national and state awards for writing, editing, photography and broadcast, and fished about 20 states and nearly a dozen countries, including most of Central America.

Tom IrelandTom Ireland- Technical Editor
In a marine industry career that's just shy of 50 years, Ireland has worked in a great many capacities. He started at a boat dealership in high school, and soon owned his own dealership on Long Island, New York. He eventually joined Evinrude / OMC, and spent 25 years with the company in a number of positions, culminating as Director of Corporate Service. After leaving OMC, he joined Mercury Marine, where he has spent the last 14 years, in many positions from marketing to service. Ireland has been heavily involved in many forms of racing and high performance technology, and marine engine development and applications have been his lifelong passion.
