Brian Cone drives a 34 Freeman catamaran in the Florida Keys, where he grew up and has been exploring the ocean since he was a boy. After graduating from college, he returned to the Keys and his real love – fishing! As a kid, he got to know many of the local captains who knew how to go that extra mile and come back with record-book catches. Cone learned well from them.
He has earned a reputation as one of the best dolphin fishermen in all the Florida Keys and has won most of the major Keys dolphin tournaments, some of them multiple times. He definitely has the hot hand when it comes to hunting these magnificent game fish. But he excels at catching many other offshore species as well. Now, in his early 50s, he’s the one that fishermen young and old love to listen to. His early times spent on the ocean gave him a special understanding and love of the water and turned a passion into a very rewarding career.
Cone has long been a fan of offshore catamarans and his latest Contagious is a 34 Freeman. Cone has been featured on ESPN and in many fishing publications, including Salt Water Sportsman, Center Console Angler, and Men’s Journal. Ever since he was a teenager, Cone’s name has been found at the top of the leaderboard at numerous local fishing tournaments.
