Ben Brownlee captains a 75-foot Ricky Scarborough boat named Game Time, based in Quepos, Costa Rica, so he’s familiar with boats, having grown up driving a wide assortment of his father’s vessels over the years since a very early age. In addition to the Scarborough, the owner also had a 39 Invincible, a brand Ben liked and admired so when it was time to buy a new boat for his family, that’s the brand they focused on.
After considerable research, Ben and his wife Tara recently bought a new 33-foot Invincible to serve as their growing family’s boat for future Bahamas trips and for fishing around coastal Florida. The Brownlee’s split their time between New Smyrna Beach and Jupiter, Florida, and the Invincible is the perfect size for fishing both areas. The couple’s two kids, Mason, 11, and Harper, 6, are as excited about the boat as Ben and Tara. And on the boat’s maiden voyage offshore of Jupiter, Harper got to help reel in her first sailfish!
The family has their first Bahamian adventure planned for this summer, with trips to Elbow Cay/Hope Town and Green Turtle Cay in the Abacos. The newly named Off Call (Tara owns a major real estate operation in New Smyrna) is powered by twin 300 hp V8 Mercury Verados and features a full suite of Garmin electronics. Plus, Ben has put his big-boat expertise to good use and custom outfitted the boat for both dredge and kite fishing using top quality Gemlux and Lindgren-Pitman rigging gear.
When the kids get out of school for the summer this will be one busy boat!
