Regulator’s new 28 comes ready to fish with a lengthy standard equipment list which includes premium items. These include twin white Yamaha F350 4-Strokes with DES Tilt Helm, DEC, and an Electronic Key Switch with Wireless Key Fob. The Seakeeper Ride System is included as well for maximum performance. The standard electronics package from the factory includes two Garmin 16-inch GPSMAP 8616XSV multi-touch widescreen MFDs, a VHF 215 AIS Radio with dual eight-foot antennas, and an Airmar B275LHW wide-beam 1kW CHIRP transducer. The electronics come mounted in a black flush-mount panel with a remote mic included. There’s even a standard SiriusXM-ready Fusion Apollo 770 marine stereo with AM/FM/WB with Wi-Fi audio streaming, Apple AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, integrated DSP, and four backlit speakers.
Under the console, a stand-up head compartment comes with a standard electric head with a six-gallon holding tank and electric tank pump-out. The space features interior lighting, a mirror, a vanity with sink and Chilewich decking. Plentiful seating areas consist of forward seating with magnetic cushions and integrated, flip-up backrests. In addition you’ll find insulated and illuminated storage beneath the center seat. The forward console seating for two contains a built-in insulated cooler. The helm seating for two sits atop a large tackle center with four large tackle drawers, eight Plano tackle trays, plus leader-spool and knife-and-pliers holders. There’s also an integrated flush-folding transom seat.
Standard fishing amenities include raw water wash down and livewell plumbing. Dual forward seat fish boxes double as dry storage. In deck lies a center forward dry storage space, also insulated and illuminated. A macerated forward in-deck fish box has locking storage for six rods. The boat also has both a transom fish box and a livewell. Notable options include Yamaha’s Helm Master system, Gemlux carbon-fiber outriggers, and several different Garmin radars. You can also get side-scan sonar, dual transom livewells or a refrigerated transom fish box. A through-stem bow roller with an anchor windlass and freshwater anchor wash comes optionally as well.
Regulator’s new 28 packs an astounding amount of fishability into a relatively compact package. This makes it one of the most versatile and capable 28-footers on the market. Regulator Marine; regulatormarine.com
